What We Do

Our Programs

Mentorship & Activities

Kinship places mentors in the lives of youth to help them thrive in their community. Part of the matching process is to pair together a mentee and mentor who share interests. When an application for a youth and/or mentor come in, we get to know them so we can make the best matches possible. Kinship plans monthly community activities for matched and waiting youth. This supports the mentor relationships and allows waiting youth to participate in our Kinship community as well.

Kinship4Teens offers a monthly mentor group, providing teens with a safe and supportive environment to further enhance their skills with an emphasis in health, safety, positive relationships, and independent living.

Kinship4Teens was created when we saw the number of youth that can benefit from a mentor relationship will always outnumber our corps of volunteers.

Kinship established Lunch buddies in 2019 as a school-based mentoring program. School counselors and teachers help identify children that may benefit from a Buddy. This program has proven to improve social skills and self-esteem in order to foster a better attitude for learning, ultimately improving school success. This program is constantly expanding to meet the needs of the students in our communities. Could you brighten a child’s life by lunching with them?

Lunch Buddies come to the school twice per month during the child’s lunch period and the volunteers’ lunch break. They have time to lunch, listen, laugh, play a game or enjoy a short activity!

We Find

We are in search of opportunities to help as many youths as possible. We welcome youth enrollment for anyone who needs. Families often hear about us from school, social services or from peers.

We Mentor

Today’s youth need a helpful hand and right guidance at every stage. At Kinship we recruit and train mentors so they’re ready for a match.

We Provide Care

We follow mentor and mentee matches on a monthly basis, checking in and providing support and care as needed.

We Educate

Our Kinship4Teens group provides Independent Living Skills educate to youth 13 years through 18 years old. The goal of this program is to prepare teens for a successful transition into adulthood.

We Lunch

We run the school-based Mentoring Program, Kinship Lunch Buddies. The goal is to improve social skills and self-esteem in order to foster a better attitude for learning: ultimately improving school success.

We Amplify

We believe that providing youth with monthly  experiences and activities in our community helps them establish and strengthen their identity, mentor relationships, connections, purpose, and joy.
